Training your Whippet
You may have heard that whippets are difficult to train.  That's not quite true.  Whippets do not tend to respond well to force-based training methods that rely upon chokechain 'pops' and physical corrections.  However, they do respond quite nicely to positive training methods, and it is very possible to achieve obedience titles with your whippet.

If you are interested in training your whippet for obedience competition, tricks or just general management, we recommend the following resources:

Books:

'Don't Shoot the Dog' by Karen Pryor

'The Power of Positive Dog Training'  by Pat Miller

'The Culture Clash' by Jean Donaldson

'Clickertraining for Obedience' by Morgan Spector

'After you get your puppy' by Ian Dunbar
